Ode to the Fiction Writer: Still Procrastinating After All These Years....

Ode to the Fiction Writer: Still Procrastinating After All These Years....Just to let you know you are not alone,
this morning I woke up early to write and
all of a sudden I decided I had to scrub the lime
deposit off the shower floor! And there I was, scrubbing away at a hated task... and I had to laugh at myself.

So now, I have to take a walk around my garden, feed the birds, feed myself and then get to my writing... maybe!

And so it goes....

Emily and Colleagues, I smiled at your lime cleaning frenzy.
I had just printed out the latest chapter in what I'm writing. nOVEL. (A five letter word.???)

And I surfed over my files and discovered "fINDING AUNT wINNIE" AND READ IT. Written a year ago. Not as bad as it seemed then. pRINTED IT OUT AND THOUGHT OF your quote from , I THINK, aGATHA cHRISTIE, ABOUT PROFESSIONALISM.

eITHER I will learn to write regularly and see how good I can be or i WILL not, and that secret will remain a secret.

It is hard to do this with no feedback, like n A- in school /etc.
But, but. I think I need more than writing only. I think I need to send some of this stuff off even though I may be DEVASTATED by rejections. But still, it's sorta a dynamic that might make me feel more professional, accepted or not.I used to send to SLICK mags. Silly. If this decade I tried, I'd go for small ones or on-line ones, probably print small ones.
Or, hell, you're the one published. My bathroom is a mess. Perhaps that's where I should be.
Thank you for the Blog. I check it every Monday and during the week. iT'S A PIECE of the puzzle and I like the connection. When do you find if you're one of the best re Writer's Digest. I definitely think you are. Most sites that I know are l00% on publishing and lack the depth and humor you share.
Happy gardening. I still keep hoping some of the others reading this will pop up and talk.
Maybe they are too busy writing or doing the shower?
Claire , who tries a bit of everything and who has taken to eating ice = but I'm from the south, what can you expect. Shalom.

Emily - I grade. That's my crud on the shower floor instead of writing.
